Gisborne

Gisborne Wineries & Cellar Doors

“Stop & Taste Good Wine & Food

Vineyards dominate much of the landscape around the sunny region of Gisborne. Gisborne is New Zealand’s third-largest wine region, specialising in Chardonnay alongside other interesting varietals, from Chenin Blanc to Viognier.
Matawhero is one of Gisborne's Landmark Vineyards and is well worth a visit. Just 10 minutes from Gisborne at 189 Riverpoint Rd.
Just a little further on at 1093 Wharerata Rd. (road to Wairoa), You'll find Wrights Wines, a family-owned organic vineyard.  Both these vineyards are open for tastings during the season.
The Crawford Road Kitchen offers a diverse selection of wines from the Gisborne region, available for tasting and purchase. Tailored and guided wine tastings can be booked by appointment, or simply enjoy a glass of your favourite varietal along with a platter or dinner. Please see adverts below for both these wineries and cellar doors for more info on opening hours and upcoming events.
