By linking the Rere Falls Trail with the Motu Road Trail, you can make a stunning journey from coast to coast, traversing Eastland. The Rere Falls Trail is mostly sealed and gravel road, travelling 100km from Gisborne to Matawai, at which point you’re onto the Motu Trails. 
Highlights on the Rere Falls Trail include Gisborne vineyards, the Eastwoodhill Arboretum, Rere Falls and Rere Falls Rockslide. You can ride in either direction, with options such as the historic Whakarau Road to create a big loop from Motu.
Group shuttle transport may be available from Motu Cycle Trails, Cycle Gisborne offers self-guided tours, while Portside Hotel, The Jolly Stockman and Eastwoodhill Arboretum all offer cycle-friendly accommodation.
