Welcome to Wairoa

0km from Wairoa
Wairoa township acts as the vital hub for a huge district.
Coming into Wairoa on State Highway 2 (Mahia Avenue) - a left turn onto Bridge Street will take you over the bridge and into town or continue straight one block to the junction of  Carroll Street (SH38) on the corner you will find Wairoa Motorcycles Ltd. A left turn here will take you along Carroll Street to the river edge where on the right is the Ferry Hotel. A right turn here will take you to Lake Waikaremoana & Te Urewera.

A left turn (Mahia Ave & Bridge St) takes you towards town. As you approach the bridge on the left is the Vista Motor Lodge & Restaurant. Visitors have a good choice of accommodation and eateries as well as numerous retail outlets that make this more than just a service town.

A left turn takes you along Marine Parade where you will find Oslers Bakery & Café and East End Café & Bar.

Continuing straight through the roundabout, at the next junction (Queen Street) you will find the Wairoa i-Site Visitor Information Centre. Across the street from the Information Centre you will find Wairoa Wines & Spirits Liquor Centre.
